What is the oldest book you have read?

I found this blog via The Millions today about The 10 Oldest Books Known to Man. I have yet to read any of works featured in the post but I definitely want to read them.

I am fairly confident that if you polled people, many would say that Beowulf is the oldest work they have read, but what about the oldest book? I am not sure I can adequately reconcile the oldest book I have read.

So, what is the oldest work of literature you have read? What is the oldest book that you have read? Please share!

And, as an aside, i read it in one of laurel’s classes. As you know, that makes it all the better!

I’d say its one of four: Beowulf, Gilgamesh, the Homerian epics, or the Ulster Cycle…I can’t recall which is earliest off the top of my head. 😛
